Kota Kinabalu: Graduates of performing arts are urged not to rely too heavily on securing jobs in the government sector and are instead encouraged to venture into entrepreneurship.

National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN) Sabah Director Jasmi Rasit said that government positions are limited and cannot accommodate the surplus of performing arts graduates in the country.

“For students in higher education institutions, JKKN Sabah receives many practical trainees, especially from the performing arts students of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

“We also provide them with training opportunities through cultural groups under JKKN.
