PETALING JAYA: Former 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) chief executive Arul Kanda Kandasamy said he did not have any direct knowledge on the involvement of former High Court Judge Datuk Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali in the RM4.1 billion loan to 1MDB in late March 2012, NST reports

However, Arul Kanda said he was aware that Nazlan, who is now a Court of Appeal judge, was Maybank’s corporate and legal services department, company secretary and group general counsel between 2006 and 2014.

He said he never contacted or met Nazlan directly.

Arul Kanda was appointed as 1MDB CEO on Jan 5, 2015 before he was sacked on June 28, 2018.

Arul Kanda was originally charged with abetting Najib but he has since turned prosecution witness.
