PUTRAJAYA, June 11 — The Asean Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Council is convening the 4th Regional Policy Dialogue, themed “TVET for Rural and Regional Development”, starting today in conjunction with the National TVET Day 2025 celebration.

In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) said the two-day dialogue aligns with Malaysia’s 2025 Asean chairmanship.

Taking place over three days at the Melaka International Trade Centre in Ayer Keroh, the National TVET Day 2025 aims to raise public awareness of the various opportunities, initiatives and incentives available within the TVET sector.

With the theme “TVET: The Preferred Career Choice”, the event also showcases educational and career pathways in technical and vocational fields.

“It is also intended to inspire more young people to consider TVET as their primary career path,” the JPM added.

The JPM said the celebration also serves as a platform to recognise the role and contributions of TVET in driving national economic growth and to promote skills-based careers more broadly across society.

“It is hoped the event will attract a diverse audience, including students, youth, jobseekers, parents, educators and industry stakeholders,” the statement read.

The event is a collaborative initiative involving agencies from 12 ministries, demonstrating a united effort to advance the national TVET transformation agenda.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officiate the celebration tomorrow.

Observed annually on June 2, National TVET Day reflects the government’s commitment to positioning technical and vocational education as a key platform for building a dynamic, skilled and competitive future workforce.
