KUALA LUMPUR – Aston Martin Racing Asia recently hosted an exhilarating event at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) to pay homage to their i8 Vantage GT4’s debut in the 2022 Thailand Super Series.
Driven by Malaysian racer Adam Khalid, the i8 Vantage GT4 was third in the GTC Production Class at Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Bangkok in a thrilling and action-packed race held in October.
Adam said he was grateful to Aston Martin Racing Asia and their sponsors for trusting him to push the car to its limits at the Thai Super Series.
“I work with an amazing team and am humbled by the opportunity to bring this experience back home to Malaysia where I started my journey with the support of many experienced drivers.
“I hope to make history with the i8 Vantage GT4 at the next race in December,” he said.
With more than 20 podium finishes and victories in his racing career, Adam has already made a spectacular climb in Asian auto racing.
In a short span of time, he has gone from winning Rookie of the Year awards to winning the Speed Festival three times and the Malaysian Endurance Championship twice. His experience is now elevated as he pushes boundaries with the i8 Vantage GT4.
Those who attended the event at SIC got the opportunity to experience the remarkable i8 Vantage GT4 through driver Adam’s perspective, while select attendees enjoyed a once in a lifetime opportunity of having Aston Martin Racing Asia team principal, Weiron Tan, drive them around the circuit in the racing team’s new car.

“These are very exciting times for Aston Martin Racing Asia as we debut the latest i8 Vantage GT4 in the 2022 Thailand Super Series in partnership with our sponsors and thrilled that our fellow Malaysians get to share in our excitement.
“The i8 Vantage GT4 is designed to exude precision, authority, and exhilaration on the racetrack. We are also exceptionally happy to have conveyed these emotions to our attendees in SIC,” Weiron said.
To further celebrate the car’s momentous debut in the Thailand Super Series, one lucky competition winner will get their hands on an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and complimentary enrolment in the Racing Training Experience Programme, along with other prizes worth up to US$1 million (RM4.45 million).
The Aston Martin i8 Vantage GT4 is a car built to specifically withstand the extreme needs and requirements of a racetrack as it delivers improved performance with an enlarged 4.0 litre V8 engine and uprated suspension, providing an enhanced aerodynamic package.
Aston Martin Racing Asia says its position as a trailblazer and its vision of establishing dominance in the racing arena is amplified with the continuous support from sponsors, media, influencers, and its legion of fans from around the world.
Backed by its research and development efforts, technology, resources, and experience, the i8 Vantage GT4 is poised to make a historical mark in the remaining rounds of the 2022 Thailand Super Series. – The Vibes, November 30, 2022
