Aston Villa have reached personal terms with Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
Villa manager Unai Emery has prioritised the signing of the Spain international, having worked with the centre-half while in charge of the Yellow Submarine.
Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira is reporting a contract has now been agreed between Torres' agents and Villa.
Schira states: "Aston Villa are really interested in Torres, who could leave Villarreal. Emery and Monchi love him and have already opened talks.
"Pau Torres have agreed personal terms for a contract until 2028 with Aston Villa, which are ready to close the deal with #Villarreal. Torres' contract expires in 2024 and he wants to leave."
