Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has lavished praise on youngster Jaden Philogene after a preseason draw with Newcastle United.
The two Premier League clubs played out a thrilling draw in the United States as part of their preparations for the new campaign.
Philogene is 21 years old and plays as a winger, having impressed on loan at Stoke City and Cardiff City in recent years.
Asked about Philogene, Emery told reporters: "He played very well on loan last year and we decided to play with him in the pre-season and to give him chances to play, showing his quality and today he did it.
We are going to decide for him what is the best for the club, for the team and for him as well.
Each opponent he takes with us, the match against Walsall and tonight, I think he played being confident and he is giving us his qualities and I am happy with him."
