Aston Villa boss Unai Emery was open about transfer interest in Middlesbrough forward Morgan Rogers.
The Midlands club are hoping to bring in the talented youngster from the Championship in the coming days.
And Emery admitted after his side lost 3-1 to Newcastle United that a deal for Rogers was very close to fruition.
"We analyse him and we follow him with a scout and as well when we played against Middlesbrough," said the Spaniard to TNT Sports when told that Rogers would soon be having a medical.
"I think he is a potential young player and hopefully tomorrow we can sign him and he can start his new chapter here.
We are motivated and excited to work with him and hopefully he can progress here like we think he will do."
