Aston Villa boss Unai Emery was coy yesterday about Ollie Watkins' new contract talks.
The striker struck twice in victory over Newcastle.
Emery said: "Of course it's very important for him and his country as well. He is a candidate now to be in the next list, maybe!"
The manager was then asked if a new deal was close to being signed.
He replied: "Ah, OK But I don't speak about it."
