Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard says he's spoken with Douglas Luiz about his contract situation.
The midfielder, inside the final year of his deal, scored in their Carabao Cup win against Bolton Wanderers.
Gerrard said: “I can guarantee everyone that it wasn't a fluke because I saw the exact same thing yesterday so, in less than 24 hours, he's done the same thing twice!"
He added: “I had a chat with Dougie, an interesting chat, we had a good conversation, really happy with what he has shown and I thought he backed his training performance.
"Pleased with his goal, pleased with his performance."
