Aston Villa manager Unai Emery was asked about his team selection against West Ham United.

The Spanish head coach chose to give both Jhon Duran and Ollie Watkins starts in attack.

While the game ended as a 1-1 draw, Emery was pleased with his team and their current position of fourth in the Premier League.

Post-game, he stated of his selections: Of course, we are trying as well to use our players, giving them opportunities to get experiences and minutes. They need to practice playing.

Today, Morgan [Rogers] and Duran both had this possibility. We didn't control the game like we planned, but in the first half even with other players this might have been the same.

We tried to get everybody to feel comfortable in the structure, playing in our idea and style. But in the first half we didn't connect very well in the right side.

The second half we changed a little bit and for example, [Moussa] Diaby felt comfortable playing as well as a number 10. We connected with him and Leon Bailey very well."
