Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz is staying at the club until January at the earliest.
The Brazilian was linked with a move away on deadline day, as he is out of contract in a year.
Manager Steven Gerrard had said he could not guarantee that Luiz would be a Villa player in a few days.
However, Evening Standard states that Villa remained resolute in their desire to keep Luiz on deadline day.
They rejected three separate offers from Arsenal for the defensive midfielder.
Arsenal are said to have gone as high as £25 million to secure the player.
The issue for Villa was securing a replacement so late in the window, which made a deal impossible.
