Aston Villa striker Cameron Archer has revealed Steven Gerrard could send him out on loan this summer.
Archer scored the winning goal for Villa in Wednesday's win over Brisbane Roar.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a successful spell with Preston North End last season, scoring seven goals across 18 starts.
Archer told the club's website: "Yeah he [Gerrard] said at the start that he'll let me know whether I'll go out on loan or not at the end of the Australia tour.
"So I'm going to try my best to impress him. Obviously I would prefer to play here but if I need to go out on loan to play games, because that's what young players need, we'll see.
"I haven't really thought about that yet! I think I'm the sort of person who just goes as it comes, I don't really think too much into the future."
