Aston Villa have suffered a heavy injury blow with Emi Buendia breaking down with a knee setback.
The Argentina attacker suffered an ACL injury in training yesterday.
Buendia is now due to undergo surgery, with the midfielder facing an extended period out.
He was entering his third season at Villa Park after his arrival from Norwich City.
Villa are now expected to enter the transfer market to find a replacement for Buendia, says the Express & Star.
