ASUS has introduced its latest compact travel router named RT-BE58 Go, which comes equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi 7. The device supports maximum throughput of up to 3,600Mbps (688Mbps + 2882Mbps) with technologies like Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and 4096-QAM courtesy of the latest Wi-Fi standard.

Let’s go through the specs: the ASUS RT-BE58 Go features two external antennas with 2×2 MIMO capabilities on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands; onboard the router is a 2.0GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB DDR4 RAM and 256MB of flash storage. Its I/O includes a 2.5GbE WAN port, a 1GbE LAN port, a USB-A port for mobile tethering, and a USB-C for power (which works power banks so long as it provides 18W of power).
The RT-BE58 Go offers several connectivity modes to suit various scenarios, and here’s a few key ones: standard wireless router mode, 5G/4G USB tethering mode for mobile internet access, and public Wi-Fi (WISP) mode, all of which can be switched via a dedicated switch behind the router. It’s also compact, at just 99 x 111 x 36mm, so carrying it on-the-go should take minimal space in your bag.
Security features include ASUS’s own AiProtection service, pre-installed VPN support compatible with up to 30 service providers, and Guest Network Pro, which allows users to set up isolated networks. Additionally, the RT-BE58 Go can be integrated into existing home networks via AiMesh-compatible routers to extend coverage under a single network SSID.
