Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini says Charles de Ketelaere just needed patience.
The striker is thriving with La Dea after a tough first season in Italy with AC Milan.
Gasperini said: "He is a very prepared boy, he has talent and Milan recognised him immediately.
"He is young, he is 22 years old, the transformations and improvements from one year to the next... I imagine in 2, 3 or 4 years he will be himself.
"With young people sometimes you have to wait, see their evolution and then it's always the pitch that speaks."
