Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini has hopes of welcoming two attacking signings in the coming days.
West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca and AC Milan's Charles de Ketelaere are both on track to join La Dea.
"We have to wait for it to be official, but clearly from Monday I must try to define the squad, even if that could mean there being fewer of us," Gasperini told the club website.
So far, it was fine playing one game a week, but now we have to concentrate on deciding who will really be part of this team."
Gasperini was speaking after their 4-1 preseason defeat to Union Berlin.
