Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone admits LaLiga clubs are struggling in Europe.
Atletico managed see off Feyenoord in the Champions League this week.
In the aftermath, Simeone said: "They had a higher intensity. Maybe the Spanish championship is lower than the other European championships. And we are one of the teams that play in Spain and we are suffering when we go to Europe.
"For me, except for Real Madrid, which in recent years has managed to compete in Europe, because it has extraordinary young players, I think that all the other teams have a hard time.
"Today we managed to overcome that scenario of vertigo, despite all the adversities."
