Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has explained pulling out of the rebel Super League group.
Cerezo admits they feared "sanction" by UEFA and says he remains a supporter of the concept.
He said, "Atltico left because we did not want UEFA to sanction us."
Cerezo continued: "I think the Super league is good for Spanish football. With no Super League the English teams have won. Proof of this is that they have taken all the best players.
"We left the Super League because we did not want UEFA to be able to sanction us and once the English left there was no option for us."
