Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann expects Real Madrid to handle their double injury blow.

Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao have been ruled out for the season due to knee injuries.

But Griezmann told LaLiga: "Militao and Courtois are very important for their team. But also, we have Koke injured, and he's our captain. That's important for us. But at the end of the day, this is soccer, and there's a lot of other players. In our case, for example, a lot of players have the right level to play in this team. Obviously (for Madrid) they're very difficult injuries, and we hope they recover.

"Last year it was difficult for us to get off to a good start. After the World Cup, players left for holidays, and I think everyone was thinking about themselves -- what they were doing well, what they weren't. We came back with lots of energy and we really wanted to improve our situation. From that point onwards, we were very good.

"It's true that the preseason wasn't the best, but at the end of the day, we were together for two weeks, formed a good group, the new players have integrated very well. It was difficult in Monday's match against Granada but we did win it. Last year, on this date, it probably would have been just one point. We've got a good coach, we've got a good team, we have fans who stand behind us. I'm sure we can do something very important."
