
MANILA, Philippines — After 10 raids in the past week, authorities still failed to find businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said on Tuesday.
“We’ve done 10 raids last week. All the sites we went to yielded negative results,” Remulla said in a radio interview.
“But our manhunt continues. We will find him,” he added.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the Philippine National Police previously told reporters that they have searched properties believed to be owned by Ang or his connections in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and Bicol Region.
Remulla also previously mentioned communicating with counterparts in Cambodia following information that Ang might have fled to the country and that he has been operating an online cockfighting business there.
The idea however that he is there was denied by Cambodian authorities as no records prove his entry or exit into their country.
Remulla also noted that authorities believed Ang was still in the country as supported by statements from the Bureau of Immigration that he likewise had no recent record of leaving the Philippines.
