The official distributor of XPeng in Malaysia, Bermaz XPeng, has issued a voluntary recall notice for the XPeng X9. The recall was initiated to address a similar action taken in China for X9 models produced before 11 August 2025.

According to a recall notice published last month by China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), differences in the manufacturing process may have compromised the airtightness of the front air springs.
Prolonged exposure to high-temperature and humidity environments may cause the springs to gradually leak air, triggering warning lights and text alerts. In extreme cases, the air loss could compromise vehicle handling and pose safety risks.
Which XPeng X9 models in Malaysia are affected by the recall?

Since the 2026 XPeng X9 facelift was only launched in Malaysia just two months ago, the recall most likely affects the pre-facelift model, which made its Malaysian debut in March 2025. According to car registration statistics on the National Open Data Portal, there are currently 839 registered X9 units in Malaysia as of 31 July 2026.
Several media outlets have reported that 481 units of the X9 in Malaysia are affected by this recall. This means approximately 57% of all X9s in Malaysia may need new front air suspension.
Free replacements and extended warranties for affected units

If your X9 is one of the affected units, Bermaz XPeng will provide a free replacement of the entire front air suspension assembly. In addition, the front air suspension system will be covered by an 8-year / 160,000 km warranty that starts from the vehicle’s registration date and is transferable to subsequent owners should you decide to sell the X9.
For further information, you can reach out to the XPeng Malaysia customer service hotline by calling +603 7627 3883. X9 owners can also check if their vehicle is affected by using the online checker tool on XPeng Malaysia’s official website.
