Emily in Paris season 6

Whether you hate to love Emily or love to hate her, you can’t deny the spell Emily in Paris has cast over us for the past six years. Now Netflix has announced that we will be bidding adieu to the show after a six-season run. On 21 May, the streaming platform confirmed what many fans had quietly feared (and perhaps secretly hoped for) — Emily in Paris will end with season 6, which has already begun filming on location in Greece.

The announcement came with a heartfelt video from the show’s star, Lily Collins, who said, “After six unforgettable years of playing Emily Cooper, I’m here to share that this upcoming sixth season will be our final. Season 6 will bring you everything you love about the show and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime. Our entire cast and crew are pouring our hearts into making this a fantastic farewell season, which we’re now filming. I can’t wait for all of the magic ahead, and to celebrate our final season with you in the most chic way yet.”

Creator Darren Star, the man who gave us Sex and the City and Younger, and has now pulled off something remarkably similar with a more Instagram-ready heroine, summed up the news beautifully in a statement. “Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime. As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us. We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have Emily in Paris!”

At the end of season 5, which started streaming on Netflix in December 2025, Emily bounced between Paris and Rome. She ended her relationship with her dashing Italian boyfriend Marcello, and found herself back on Parisian cobblestones, emotionally bruised but impeccably dressed. The season ended with Gabriel sending Emily a postcard from Greece, inviting her to join him now that they were both single again.

And it looks like Emily will take him up on that offer, as Netflix has confirmed that filming is already underway in Greece. The crew is also set to visit Monaco before heading to Paris, giving the final season a proper farewell tour of Europe’s most glamorous postcodes.

Behind-the-scenes photographs of Collins and Star on location in Greece have already been circulating, and if they’re anything to go by, the show’s aesthetic is as sun-drenched and enviable as ever.

Do we have a release date for Emily in Paris season 6?

Netflix has confirmed the final season will drop in 2026. As filming has just begun, we can probably expect a winter release. Whether it’ll drop in one glorious, binge-worthy batch or be split into two parts is not clear yet.
