Kota Kinabalu: The first group of Australians to travel to Sabah since August 2019 for war tourism has just completed a successful visit to honour POWs who died in World War 2.
The group of 16 was organised and led by historian Lynette Silver, with the trip timed to coincide with Remembrance Day, a day of international commemoration for all war dead, since the end of World War 1.
A minute’s silence is observed by Allied countries at 11 am on the 11th day of the 11th month, the exact time in 1918 that the guns fell silent after four years of bitter warfare in Europe.
