  • Australia's Al Minhad air base in the United Arab Emirates was targeted by Iranian drones over the weekend, though all Australian personnel were confirmed “safe and accounted for”.
  • Defence Minister Richard Marles reiterated Australia's backing of US and Israeli military action against Iran, aiming to deny Iran the ability to acquire a deployable nuclear weapon.
  • Beyond the strike on Al Minhad, Iranian retaliatory attacks reportedly caused damage in Dubai, including its international airport and the Burj Al Arab, with explosions also reported on Palm Jumeirah.
  • A suspected Iranian drone hit the US embassy in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, causing minor damage, following an earlier attack on the US embassy in Kuwait.
  • Iran's widespread retaliation has also targeted Amazon data centres in the UAE and Bahrain, energy facilities in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and ships in the Strait of Hormuz, causing global oil and natural gas prices to soar.
