POLICE operatives, along with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Special Operations Task Group, arrested a medical staff member and two alleged fixers near the agency’s Pasay City office for posing as LTO employees.
Arrested were alias “Kyle,” 29, a medical staff member of Roligon Medical Services and a resident of Tondo, Manila; alias “Jose,” 45, a resident of Las Piñas City; and alias “Ton,” 42, a resident of Barangay 191, Pasay City.
Retired PBGen. Allan Nobleza led the operation, along with the LTO-Special Operations Task Group (SOTG), LTJG Gilbert Jardin of the LTO-PCG, and other LTO Main Office personnel, in coordination with the Pasay City Police Station, Sub-Station 8.
An initial police investigation shows that the arrest of suspect Kyle was effected after witnesses alias “Marie,” 35, and alias “Lea,” 32, identified him as the individual who allegedly offered them a transaction while representing himself as an LTO employee.
At the time of the incident, Kyle was reportedly wearing a sublimation shirt bearing the LTO logo, allegedly giving the impression that he was an authorized employee.
Meanwhile, body-worn camera footage from LTO officers showed the two other suspects wearing LTO identification laces and purportedly evaluating registration documents and inspecting a motor vehicle, despite lacking authorization as LTO personnel.
The suspects were consequently arrested by LTO officers assigned to the LTO Central Office, East Avenue, Quezon City.
After the arrest, the suspects and witnesses were brought to Sub-Station 8 (Airport) for documentation, and then taken to the Pasay City General Hospital for physical examination.
Thereafter, authorities said that the suspects were referred to the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) of the Pasay City Police Station for proper disposition and further investigation.
