It looks like reshoots for “Avengers: Doomsday” are underway and could feature some familiar faces popping up in the movie.
According to GeekTyrant, insider Daniel Richtman reported that directors Anthony and Joe Russo are adding “a lot” of cameos to the film.
The directors have not revealed exactly who will be included in the reshoots, but several rumored characters could return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and potentially appear in “Doomsday” or its follow-up, “Avengers: Secret Wars.”
For now, the reshoots are reportedly focused on M’Baku (Winston Duke) and Sam Wilson/Captain America (Anthony Mackie).
Returning heroes
While “Avengers: Doomsday” already boasts a huge cast, several major Marvel characters are still missing from the announced lineup.
First is Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, who is rumored to return to the MCU and join Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom as one of his sorcerers, alongside Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Clea (Charlize Theron), and the Loki variant Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino).
Mark Ruffalo is also rumored to leave the set of “Task” Season 2 for a one-day MCU shoot, potentially paving the way for his return. He previously reprise his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day."
Meanwhile, Jeremy Renner recently teased a photo of his Hawkeye costume on social media, sparking speculation that he could make his MCU comeback.
“Avengers: Doomsday” is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18.
