LAHAD DATU: The upcoming 17th Sabah State Election is expected to be one of the most challenging polls the State has faced.

Silam Gagasan Rakyat Chief Datuk Mizma Appehdullah said the party machinery must maintain momentum and unity to face the tough electoral battle ahead.

“Any issues that could weaken or divide party solidarity must be avoided at all costs,” she said, after distributing aid to fire victims in Kampung Sarip, here, Saturday.

“Our machinery and members need to work together and continue strengthening the party. We cannot allow any element to destroy what we have built.

“We are facing a difficult state election with various issues and opposition propaganda constantly trying to bring us down. That is why we must remain strong and united,” said Mizma, who is also Gagasan Rakyat Zone 6B Wanita Chief.

She said the election season would see various issues, slander and agendas emerging from multiple quarters.

Party machinery must therefore be prepared with accurate facts to counter any false accusations directed at the party.

“Gagasan Rakyat and GRS have the advantage of an excellent track record in developing the State and safeguarding the people’s welfare.

“If slander arises, respond with the correct facts. Do not engage with their propaganda because that is their main objective to create chaos within our party,” she said.

She said the Silam Gagasan Rakyat is currently implementing planned groundwork and strategies, while simultaneously working to strengthen its machinery to contribute to the party’s victory in the state election.
