SHAH ALAM, Dec 11 — Those who tend to self-harm due to depression are advised to seek help by contacting the Selangor Mental Health (Sehat) hotline.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said through Sehat, patients could get help and speak to qualified counsellors.

“Self-harm is an act of hurting yourself when handling a difficult feeling, memory or to release the stress you are facing.

“Do not take it lightly! Express your feelings to certified counsellors. We are willing to listen,” she shared on Facebook.

Dr Siti Mariah added that the Sehat counsellors could be contacted via the Sehat 24-hour hotline at 1700-82-7536 or 1700-82-753, through the SELangkah mobile app or visit www.drsitimariah.com/sehat.

Since its launch in June, over 300 individuals have contacted the Sehat hotline to share their problems and seek advice from certified counsellors throughout this year.
