- Concerns were raised by Mark Fairhurst, national chairman of the POA union, regarding Rudakubana potentially receiving benefits as a patient and the safety of staff, while junior housing minister Sally Jameson stated he would be returned to prison 'as soon as possible'.
- Rudakubana's history includes an alleged attack on a prison officer, three referrals to the anti-terror programme Prevent, and previous mental health care engagement with Alder Hey children’s NHS foundation.
