Axiata posts RM9.76 bil FY22 net profit on Celcom-Digi merger

KUALA LUMPUR – Axiata Group Bhd’s net profit soared to RM9.76 billion in the financial year ended December 31, 2022 (FY22) from RM818.90 million a year earlier, driven by earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) improvement and one-off net gain from the Celcom-Digi merger.

Its operations’ total revenue rose to RM21.72 billion in FY22 from RM19.99 billion in FY21.

Consequently, the group’s Ebitda increased by 7.8% year-on-year to RM9.60 billion with growth across all operating companies, except mobile operations in Sri Lanka and Nepal. – Bernama, February 23, 2023
