AYALA Corp. is expanding its retail business with the launch of ACX Retail, a platform aimed at bringing international consumer brands to the Philippine market through long-term partnerships.
ACX Retail was established by ACX Holdings Corp., Ayala’s investment arm for consumer and retail businesses, to develop global brands across fashion, lifestyle and specialty retail sectors.
“At ACX, our role is to help exceptional brands succeed in the Philippine market by combining their strengths with our understanding of local consumers, our retail capabilities, and the reach of the Ayala ecosystem,” Ayala corporate strategy and business development head Mark Uy said.
Uy stressed the partnerships are intended to expand consumer choice, while supporting the growth and competitiveness of Philippine retail.
ACX Retail Chief Retail Officer Rohit Kohti, meanwhile, said Filipino consumers are increasingly seeking quality, relevance and differentiated experiences.
“Our focus is to bring the right global concepts to the Philippines and build them into sustainable businesses that create long-term value,” he added.
The company said the platform would build on strategic joint ventures announced earlier this year with international retail brands, including Australian home and lifestyle brand Anko, Thai wholesale retailer Makro, Dubai-based supermarket operator Spinneys and South Korean fashion brand Musinsa Standard.
It will focus on selecting international retail concepts that can gain long-term relevance among Filipino consumers.
The platform will also provide international brands with a local partner access to Ayala’s Philippine market knowledge and broader business ecosystem.
Ayala Corp.’s share price rose by P5.00 to close at P505.00 apiece on Tuesday.
