KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 — Two Umno leaders have denied attending a meeting allegedly linked to claims that Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim had signed a declaration seeking to remove Tuanku Muhriz Munawir as the state’s Yang di-Pertuan Besar.

The denials came from Umno secretary-general Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dasuki and Umno information chief Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, Harian Metro reported today.

Azalina said she was unaware of the alleged matter.

“I don’t know, I wasn’t there when he (Ismail) signed it. I really wasn’t,” she told reporters after the President’s Briefing held in conjunction with the 2026 Umno General Assembly here today.

Asyraf Wajdi, meanwhile, stressed that he was not involved in the alleged meeting.

“I wasn’t there. I wasn’t involved, I’m not (part of the leadership) in Negri Sembilan. I’m only a national delegate,” he said.
