Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil says investigations into MACC chief Azam Baki are ongoing and findings will only be disclosed after completion.
PETALING JAYA: Investigations into allegations involving Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki are still ongoing, following claims made by an international media outlet regarding possible links to corporate manipulation.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the investigation process must be allowed to run its course before any further action is taken or findings on the shareholding issue are disclosed.
“It is important to ensure that the investigation is fully completed before any further action is taken or before the findings related to the shareholding issue can be disclosed,” he said at the weekly Cabinet press briefing yesterday.
He added that the matter remains under the purview of the relevant authorities.
Fahmi said any decision on the timing of an announcement will be made by the Cabinet and, at the appropriate time, the Prime Minister, once the process is concluded.
