Azmin Ali quits PN leadership roles following Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation as coalition chairman.

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has also announced his resignation as secretary-general of Perikatan Nasional (PN), as key Bersatu leaders step down from their posts in the opposition coalition.

He will also step down as PN Selangor chairman effective Jan 1, 2026.

In a statement, Azmin said he accepts that the appointment of PN secretary-general falls under the authority of the coalition’s chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and has therefore decided to step down from both positions.

“I greatly appreciate the cooperation of all parties and extend my sincere thanks,” he said.

Azmin’s resignation comes amid a series of leadership changes within PN, following Muhyiddin’s decision to step down as chairman earlier today.

Earlier, Johor PN chief Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal also resigned from his position as state chairman.
