KOTA KINABALU: The floating solar project at Babagon Dam in Penampang has reached five per cent completion since its launch last month.

Ahmad Naim Uddang, CEO of Jetama Sdn Bhd, said the project will run alongside another floating solar project in Sandakan, with both targeted for completion within 12 months.

The Babagon facility will generate 13MW, while the Sandakan project will produce 15MW, giving a combined capacity of 28MW.

Naim said construction costs remain stable as prices were locked in during procurement despite global uncertainties.
