- South Yorkshire Police confirmed that a forensic post-mortem examination established the infant died as a result of stab wounds.
- Seven people aged between 15 and 38 were initially arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery.
- Two of the suspects, aged 26 and 37, have since been released on bail while police have obtained a warrant to extend custody for the remaining five individuals.
