Kota Kinabalu: An imam found a baby girl inside a box abandoned in front of a mosque at Taman Seri Gaya, Luyang, here on Sunday, police said.
A note left with the infant said the baby was born on Oct. 31 and said the parent/s couldn't afford raising the baby, hoping she would be sent to an orphanage.
Police said they are investigating the case under child abandonment.
