KINABATANGAN: A two-year-old boy was killed and his parents critically injured when the car they were travelling in collided with another vehicle on Jalan Kampung Paris 2, here, early Wednesday.

The 12.30am accident also left four others, believed to be related to the victims, seriously injured.

Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Fire Chief Azlan Shah Jamalludin said the department received a call about the incident at 12.38am.

He said the collision involved two vehicles, a pickup truck and a sports utility vehicle.

Read more “There were six victims trapped in the SUV and the team worked to extract all of them. They were then handed over to the ambulance service for transport to the nearest hospital for further treatment,” he said, Wednesday.

He added that the baby in the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving causing death.
