Fresh off the success of its debut season, the unapologetically raw Japanese reality show is back with a whole new island and nine fresh faces ready to break or mend their hearts. Love, chaos and unfiltered emotions are about to hit the shores of Okinawa — Japan’s tropical paradise.
The streaming giant unveiled some striking art that introduced the nine rebellious yankiis (a Japanese term for delinquent youngsters), each carrying a complicated past, buried secrets and unspoken trauma. Yet beneath it all lies the courage to open up, and the determination to move forward.
Speaking about season 2, producer MEGUMI said, “Through season 2, I hope audiences can once again feel that energy and find the courage to embrace who they truly are.”
Judging by the trailer, it looks like season 2 won’t be holding back on the entertainment quotient. Expect heated arguments, palpable tension, and even moments of real vulnerability.
The official song for the new season is “Body & Soul (Remastered 2026)”, a fresh take on the iconic 1996 debut single by Okinawa-born group SPEED. The remaster celebrates the group’s 30th anniversary.

Nine yankiis, each with varied backgrounds and harbouring rough edges, arrive on the shores of Okinawa for a 14-day experiment. The secluded setting strips them of everything but the truth. It tests whether people with turbulent pasts can build lasting relationships, as trust and loyalty are pushed to their limits. Rivalries will surface, unexpected bonds will form, and by the end, only those willing to wear their heart on their sleeve will walk away with anything real and meaningful.
Who are the hosts for season 2?
MEGUMI and comedian Nagano return as hosts, bringing back their familiar chemistry and sharp commentary on the contestants’ journeys. This season, they will be joined by hip-hop artist Awich, who is stepping in as a new voice on the panel.
