Filipino viewers can watch the 2026 British Academy Film Awards live via Lionsgate Play, which will stream the ceremony from London’s Royal Festival Hall on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. GMT.
In the Philippines, the event will air in real time on Feb. 23 at 1:30 a.m., with red carpet coverage beginning at 1:45 a.m. and the main broadcast at 3 a.m. The full program will also be available on demand after the live telecast.
Organized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the BAFTAs recognize achievements in British and international film. Often compared to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Academy Awards in the United States, the ceremony brings together nominees and industry figures for an annual presentation of honors.
Leading this year’s nominations is Paul Thomas Anderson’s "One Battle After Another" with 14 nods. Ryan Coogler’s supernatural thriller "Sinners" follows with 13 nominations, while Chloe Zhao’s historical drama "Hamnet" has 11.
Josh Safdie’s "Marty Supreme," described as his directorial debut, also earned 11 nominations, including Best Film and Director. The sports comedy drama stars Timothee Chalamet.
Guillermo del Toro’s "Frankenstein" received eight nominations. Jacob Elordi is nominated for Best Supporting Actor, and Dan Laustsen for Best Cinematography.
After hosting the ceremony for two consecutive years, David Tennant steps down. This year’s host is Alan Cumming.
During the In-Memoriam segment, British singer-songwriter Jessie Ware is scheduled to perform a tribute.
The ceremony will also feature the first performance outside the United States by the singing voices behind HUNTR/X from "K-pop Demon Hunters." Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira) and Rei Ami (Zoey) are set to perform the song "Golden."
The 2026 BAFTA Fellowship will be presented to Donna Langley, chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment. According to the organizers, Langley has supported films including "Oppenheimer," "The Holdovers," "Jurassic World," "Bridesmaids" and the 2024 adaptation of “Wicked."
Beyond the awards ceremony, Lionsgate Play’s catalog includes titles such as “Sherlock,” “Normal People” and “Gangs of London,” along with films including "Past Lives" and “Oppenheimer."
Viewers in the Philippines can access the livestream through Lionsgate Play.
