Kota Kinabalu: Installation of a bailey bridge is currently underway at Km2.85 of Jalan Tun Fuad Stephen in Tanjung Lipat following damage to the existing structure, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam (pic).
Joachim, who is also the Works and Utilities Minister, said the temporary bridge serves as an immediate measure to restore traffic flow and ensure safer, more efficient movement for motorists while a long-term solution is being implemented.
The installation process is expected to take two to three weeks to complete, depending on weather conditions and technical factors at the site.
The Public Works Department (PWD) and the Ministry are working to complete the task as quickly as possible in the interest of public safety and convenience.
Road users are advised to remain patient and strictly adhere to safety signage and instructions issued throughout the duration of the works.
