Have you ever had to rush to Bakehouse before your flight to get a dozen egg tarts to bring home? Or perhaps you were craving a sweet treat to perk you up before your flight? If this sounds familiar, your wishes have been answered. Bakehouse is finally opening a store at the Hong Kong International Airport. This new branch is set to open in Q4 of 2026. Now, tourists and travellers can get their hands on its famous egg tarts fresh before jetting off.

The bakery’s signature deep blue paper bag is a familiar sight within the halls of the Hong Kong International Airport. As one of the best egg tarts in Hong Kong (if not the best), it’s a popular souvenir for tourists flying back home after exploring Hong Kong. Now, it’ll be even easier to get the egg tarts with the new store inside the airport. This way, tourists can get their hands on a fresh batch while heading to their boarding gate. No more last-minute Bakehouse runs before heading to the airport!

The new branch will be taking flight inside the Departure Hall. After passing through security and immigration, travellers can stop by the new Bakehouse at L7, near the food court area. Its location is across the Design Gallery and Lady M. Like other airport stores, this branch will open earlier and for longer than usual. This means even those catching early morning flights can still get their dose of Bakehouse.

Customers can expect much of the bakery’s usual offerings. Egg tarts, of course, are a must. Its other pastries and treats will also likely be on offer. However, what piques our interest is whether this store will have its own exclusive item. Many of Bakehouse’s recent openings — The Peak and Sha Tin, for example — have a new item (or several) exclusive to that branch. We’ll be looking forward to what could be the Bakehouse Airport exclusive.
