LAWYER Levi Baligod and 14 of the 18 “maleta boys” were arrested by the San Juan City Police for unjust vexation on Friday.
The 18 "maleta boys" are a group of former security aides and alleged bagmen who came forward to claim they delivered suitcases containing billions of pesos in kickbacks from infrastructure projects to various high-ranking Philippine government officials.
"They are now at the San Juan Police Station," San Juan City Police Chief Col. Anthony Gantang told reporters in a phone interview, noting the arrest warrant was issued by the Zambales Regional Trial Court Branch 69 on Sept. 23, with a set bail of P10,000 for each individual.
The men were arrested in front of the Hall of Justice in San Juan City, Gantang said.
They were charged with unjust vexation in relation to Republic Act 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
