Ball in AGC’s court on probe into Hadi, says IGP

PETALING JAYA: Police have completed their probe into PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang over a statement he issued last month, says Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain.

He said the investigation paper has been submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers, Harian Metro reported.

Razarudin said Hadi was being investigated for his remarks under the Sedition Act 1948 and the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) 1998.

Last Tuesday, Bukit Aman investigators questioned Hadi at the PAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur over his remarks in a statement titled “The importance of upholding Islam”, issued on Feb 20.

Sultan Sharafuddin rebuked Hadi, saying his remarks were “highly inappropriate and uncultured” and could lead to division within the Muslim community.
