Kota Kinabalu: The State Government is urged to exercise its internal immigration controls under MA63 to ban anyone from Malaya who insults Sabah, including mocking and humiliating new 11th Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman and Sabah leaders.
Gerakan Kuasa Rakyat Malaysia (G57) Chairman Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar said this is so that peace and public order in Sabah remain intact and not jeopardised by negative culture from the peninsula.

“In Sabah, we have over 100 ethnic groups. We live together harmoniously without any issues. We can live in the same house, Christians and Muslims together, without any problem.

That’s why any inappropriate behavour, any improper methods such as caricature (on Sabah’s Governor) — is an insult to the people of Sabah. Sabahans are hurt.
“Secondly, it insults someone who has contributed significantly to Sabah. Thirdly, he (the caricature subject) is the new TYT (Tuan Yang Terutama, Governor) who has been entrusted with mandate given by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King). When the King grants a mandate, it is, of course, after thorough consideration, including the legal matters,” Zulkarnain said.

He said Fahmi Reza’s actions on doing insulting caricature (on the 11th Sabah Governor) are highly inappropriate for the Sabah community.

“Some argue that it’s just a picture and there’s nothing wrong. But in the past, even Datuk Seri Najib’s picture was stomped on during Bersih protests, and police reports were still lodged.
“But from Sabahans’ perspective, we are not used to such things. Therefore, there is a need to bar him (Fahmi) so that such negative influence would not spread to our younger people in Sabah,” he said.
Zulkarnain said he lodged the report against certain group of UMS students and its alumni, including those who staged the Gerak Gempur Rasuah group on Dec 31, who defamed and insulted the Sabah Governor via a viral video in social media.
“All these accusations are unfounded and baseless because Tun Musa Aman has never been convicted of corruption by any court.
“As for the deforestation allegation, Tun Musa had reserved millions of hectares reserved as permanent forest in Sabah and restored 700,000 hectares during his tenure as then Chief Minister.
“In addition, Musa was even recognised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) for his forest conservation efforts in Sabah. I would like to pass all these back to those accusers so that they see these are the facts that they must know,” he said.
Zulkarnain also hoped the police, the Attorney General’s Department and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) would take immediate and stern action against those who spread the viral video.
He said a memorandum would also be submitted to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, to request the King’s intervention in the matter including ensuring protections for the institution of Sabah Governor (TYT) are incorporated into the sensitive 3R (Royalty, Religion and Race) category.
