Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena says he feels he'll always be treated fairly by coach Xavi.
Pena has impressed in the absence of Marc-Andre ter Stegen as the German recovers from back surgery.
Pena said: "We all want to be starters and we train with that goal. If you settle for being the second goalkeeper, you end up not even being the second goalkeeper.
"I know what my role is now on that team; If in the future I can be the undisputed starter, the better. Xavi gave me all the confidence and when I returned he told me that he saw conditions in me to be able to compete with Marc.
"That's why I renewed last season."
