Barcelona have made an offer to Villarreal midfielder Dani Parejo.
Barca are in the market for a defensive pivot after losing former captain Sergi Busquets and have now made their move for Parejo.
The 34 year-old has received an offer of a one-year deal plus a 12 month option, says Jijantes.
However, Parejo is seeking a straight two-year contract.
The veteran has a deal with Villarreal to 2024, though a move away isn't expected to be a problem should Parejo insist.
