Ex-Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan has spoken about his reasons for leaving the club.
The German international decided to call time on his career as a Citizen this summer.
Rather than signing an extension, Gundogan left as a free agent to join Barcelona.
Unfortunately, I didn't say goodbye in person because I only made the decision after the Champions League final, two days before the DFB game against Colombia," he told German newspaper Bild.
