Barcelona president Joan Laporta has hit out at Real Madrid as the Negreira investigation escalates.
Following the public prosecutor's decision to file a lawsuit against the club, Barcelona could even see their presence in European competitions next season being jeopardized.
Laporta has come to the fore in his bid to allay Barcelona fans' fears and hit out at Real Madrid, who held a Board of Directors meeting on Sunday.
"Barcelona fans, be calm. Barcelona are innocent of what they are accused of and the victims of a campaign against their honorability in which they are now all involved," Laporta posted on Twitter.
"No surprise. We will defend Barcelona and demonstrate the innocence of the club. Many will have to rectify."
