Barcelona president Joan Laporta admits he wants to rebuild his relationship with Leo Messi.
Off contact in June, Messi has been linked with a return to Barca.
Laporta said, "Messi knows that the doors of Bara are open. We will see. I have to find a way to improve the current relationship between Messi and Bara.
"The legacy that I found when I became president was not good at all and I had to make a decision with which I am not satisfied. Messi is the best player in history. He has been the most important player in the history of Bara. I have to be very careful what I say.
"Messi is a PSG player and I have to have respect. Leo knows we have him in our hearts. He is part of our shield."
The president was reacting to claims of former Barca striker Sergio Aguero, a good friend of Messi's.
El Kun said: "I think that Leo should retire at Bara because Barcelona is his home, he would have to finish his career here. I think that Laporta must try to bring Leo and, if Laporta steps forward, Messi returns to Barcelona. Right now, things are 50-50."
